PLOT

Oliver and Sarah, a couple in their late 20s, are moving in together into Oliver’s flat where he’s lived alone for a number of years. Helen, Oliver’s over protective mother has offered to “help out” which Oliver accepted, much to Sarah’s annoyance. Throughout the day, Helen can’t resist making small subtle digs aimed at Sarah, undermining her status as Oliver’s partner and when Sarah looks towards Oliver for support and affection he spectacularly fails due to his own oedipal issues that he’s struggling with. When Helen makes a comment to Oliver that he’s allowing Sarah to run his life for him, Oliver goes off the deep end and tries to assert himself by slamming down one of Sarah’s paintings that she’s hung on the wall, damaging it in the process. Oliver goes to console Sarah and realises that he risks losing Sarah completely. In an awkward attempt to make amends, he leads Sarah in a dance in the living room and kisses her passionately while his mother watches. Helen gets the hint and exits. Oliver finally speaks up for himself and tells Sarah what he really wants for the flat (a large television) which is greeted with a luke-warm response.

PLOT

A sentimental regional film in an atmosphere of homelessness, a Bavarian cabinet of curiosities, a fanciful view of friendship and idealism, and a disguised declaration of love to Bavaria.

The revolution speaks Bavarian: For as long as he can remember, Quirinalis (19) has been quarrelling with his fate, which completely disregards the basics of every rebel biography and brought him into the world as the son of two liberal teachers in Lower Bavaria. Having just graduated with the best grades possible, he is determined to pursue the most unprofitable career Bavaria has to offer; that of a revolutionary.
